Google Ads Management — Search, Shopping & Performance Max

Google Ads that pay for themselves.

Most Google Ads accounts quietly burn budget: no real conversion tracking, one messy campaign on broad match, and an agency that owns the account so you never see where the money goes. We run paid search as a system — tracking before spend, campaigns split by intent and margin, Smart Bidding with real guardrails, and weekly optimization toward what actually converts. You keep your account and your data. The media budget goes straight to Google; our fee buys the work and the numbers.

In one paragraph

What is Google Ads management?

Google Ads management is the ongoing work of turning paid-search spend into measurable revenue instead of wasted clicks. In practice it means a few things working together: conversion tracking set up before any money is spent — Google Tag Manager, GA4 and a server-side Conversions API so every lead and sale is attributed to the campaign that earned it; account structure split by search intent and product margin, so high-value queries get budget and irrelevant ones get filtered out with negative keywords; bidding strategy, usually Smart Bidding (Target CPA or Target ROAS) with guardrails so the algorithm optimizes toward profit, not just cheap clicks; and continuous optimization — weekly review of search terms, budgets, creatives and landing pages, because a Google Ads account is never "finished." One honest point: the ad budget you pay to Google is separate from a management fee, and there is no magic ROAS — results depend on your margins, your offer and the competitiveness of your market. What good management does is stop the waste, point spend at what converts, and report it transparently in your own account, which you always own. The goal is profitable, durable performance you can read in a dashboard — not a vanity click count.

Key Takeaways on Google Ads Management

  • Transparent pricing: management starts at a fixed $390/mo, with Growth at $690/mo and Full-Funnel at $1,190/mo.
  • Zero markup: the media budget goes straight to Google from your own account — we never mark it up.
  • Tracking before spend: GTM, GA4 and a server-side Conversions API are set up before any budget moves.
  • Always optimized: weekly passes add up to around 52 reviews of search terms, budgets and bids per year.
  • You own the account: full admin access under our agency MCC, and no abusive lock-in after the three-month ramp.

What we manage

🔍

Search Ads (CPC)

The core of paid search: capturing people already looking for what you sell. Campaigns structured by intent, tight keyword themes, negative keywords to kill wasted spend, and ad copy written to qualify clicks before you pay for them.

Shopping & Performance Max

For ecommerce and lead gen: Shopping and Performance Max campaigns driven by a clean product feed and a Target ROAS goal — with brand and asset-group guardrails so PMax grows revenue instead of just cannibalizing searches you would have won for free.

Display & YouTube

Upper-funnel reach when it earns its place: Display and YouTube campaigns to build demand and stay in front of the right audiences — tracked back to assisted conversions, not run as a vanity reach line that quietly drains the budget.

Local Campaigns & Maps

For businesses that sell in a service area: campaigns built to drive calls, directions and store visits, tied to your Google Business Profile and geo-targeted to the places your customers actually convert from.

Dynamic Remarketing

The cheapest revenue in the account: bringing back people who visited, abandoned a cart or viewed a product. Dynamic remarketing and customer-match audiences that re-engage warm traffic without burning budget on cold clicks.

Smart Bidding & CRO

Where the ROI is made: Smart Bidding tuned to your real conversion data, plus collaboration on the landing pages and forms the ads point to — because the best campaign in the world loses money sending clicks to a page that does not convert.

How we run your account

Audit & Goals

We audit your current account (or your market, if you are starting fresh): structure, tracking, wasted spend, competitors and the real cost of a lead in your industry. You get a clear baseline and honest targets — before any budget moves.

Tracking Before Spend

No spend until measurement is solid. We set up Google Tag Manager, GA4 and a server-side Conversions API so every lead and sale is attributed correctly. Optimizing toward bad data is how budgets get burned — we close that gap first.

Structure & Launch

We rebuild or build the account split by intent and margin: campaigns, ad groups, negative keywords, ad copy and the right campaign types for your goals — Search, Shopping, Performance Max or Local. Then we launch with conservative bids and clear guardrails.

Weekly Optimization

Paid search is never finished. Every week we review search terms, add negatives, adjust budgets and bids, test creatives, and steer Smart Bidding toward profit. Around 52 optimization passes a year — not a set-and-forget account.

Reporting & Review

Every month you get a Looker Studio dashboard tied to revenue and cost-per-result — not a vanity screenshot — plus a review call to decide the next move together. You always have full access to your own account in real time.

Unmanaged vs. Managed

Most accounts leak budget the same way: conversions are never tracked properly, everything runs in one broad campaign, bids are set-and-forget, and the agency owns the account so the client never sees where the money goes. The difference between an account that loses money and one that prints it is a system — real tracking, intent-based structure, disciplined bidding and weekly work.

FAQ

How much does Google Ads management cost?
Management starts at a fixed fee of $390/mo for a single, properly tracked Search account, rising with scope across our Growth and Full-Funnel tiers. On high-spend accounts we sometimes price at 10–15% of media spend instead, whichever fits the account better. One thing to be clear about: the ad budget you pay to Google is separate from our management fee — the media goes straight to Google from your own account, and we never mark it up or run it through us. You always see exactly what you spend and what it returns.
What ad budget do I need to start?
For most local and lead-gen businesses, the efficient starting range is roughly $500–1,500/mo in media spend, depending on your industry and how competitive your keywords are — some markets need more to gather enough conversion data to optimize on. We will tell you honestly before you commit whether your budget is enough to get a real signal, or whether you would just be paying for clicks without enough volume to learn from. We would rather turn down a budget than waste it.
Do I own the Google Ads account?
Always. We work inside your own Google Ads account — or set one up in your name and your billing — and we manage it under our agency MCC. You keep full administrator access the entire time, you see every change in real time, and if you ever leave, the account, its history, conversion data and learning stay with you. Accounts where the agency owns everything and the client walks away with nothing are exactly the trap we built our model to avoid.
Is there a long-term contract or lock-in?
No abusive lock-in. There is an initial ramp — realistically the first three months are where tracking is built, campaigns are restructured and Smart Bidding gathers the data it needs to perform — so we ask for that runway to do the job properly. After that you can leave without penalty, and you take your account and data with you. We would rather keep clients because the numbers work than because a contract traps them.
Do you include landing pages and conversion optimization?
We optimize the conversion path and collaborate closely on the pages and forms your ads point to, because it is where most ad budget is actually won or lost — the best campaign in the world loses money sending clicks to a page that does not convert. Building full landing pages from scratch can be scoped together with our web design and conversion-rate-optimization services, but reviewing your existing pages, advising on the changes that matter, and tracking the result is part of how we run paid search.
Can you recover a suspended Google Ads account?
Often, yes — where the underlying policy issue is fixable. We review the suspension reason, correct what triggered it (landing-page policy, billing, business verification, misrepresentation flags), and file the appeal through the proper channel with the documentation Google asks for. What we cannot do is promise reinstatement: that decision is Google’s, and an account suspended for a genuine, repeated violation may not come back. We will give you a straight read on the odds before we start.
What is Performance Max and should I use it?
Performance Max is Google’s automated campaign type that serves across Search, Shopping, Display, YouTube, Gmail and Maps from a single campaign, optimized by the algorithm toward your conversion goal. It can be very effective for ecommerce and lead gen — but only with solid conversion tracking, a clean product feed and guardrails so it does not simply absorb the branded and existing searches you would win anyway. We use it deliberately, with brand exclusions and asset-group structure, and we measure incremental return, not just the total PMax reports back to itself.
Google Ads or Meta Ads — which should I run?
They do different jobs. Google Ads captures existing demand — people actively searching for what you sell, ready to act — which usually makes it the fastest path to leads and sales. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) creates demand, putting you in front of people who are not searching yet, which is powerful for brand and discovery but slower to convert. For most businesses we start with Google to capture the demand that already exists, then layer Meta once the funnel and tracking are proven. We will recommend the mix based on your goals, not on what is easiest to bill.
